“I believe that the Marussia F1 Team has all the constituent parts to be successful both on and off the track. Our racing pedigree, under the guidance of John Booth, has grown out of many seasons of race and championship wins. Combined with the experience of our investors, our staff and our driver line-up, I truly believe that the Marussia F1 Team represents a new approach to racing built on very solid foundations.”

A native of Northumberland, Graeme inherited his love of all things automotive from his father, who collected cars and established a motoring library.

Following a traditional engineering education, gaining a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield University, Graeme also gained an MBA from Newcastle University.

Initially working in the Power industry in the UK and Singapore, he moved to live in Switzerland in the early 90’s and it was there that he was involved in initiating a sponsorship deal for an IndyCar team in the USA. This took him to races both in America and Australia and enabled him to work for the first time with a professional race team.

Returning to the UK in ’96, Graeme set up an IT business and also co-founded Eiger Racing, a Formula Renault racing team.

Working with venture capitalist investors, Graeme built up the IT business which was subsequently floated on the UK stock exchange. Eiger Racing meanwhile was developing into a successful team achieving a number of class wins. However, after years competing against Manor Motorsport, Graeme joined Manor at the end of 2000 in a commercial role.

Continuing with other business interests, Graeme co-founded, built up and subsequently sold the leading provider of data communication services for railway operators again backed by venture capital and private equity investors.

Graeme was part of the team that steered Manor into its first season of Formula 1 in 2010 as Virgin Racing which is the team that now races as Marussia F1 Team and he carries out the dual roles of Team President and Sporting Director.
